WEPA-Technologies did visit ‘SpacePropulsion 2014’ conference (http://www.propulsion2014.com/) in Cologne / Germany (05/19 – 05/23).
About 600 international participants did visit the conference – a broad range of topics has been covered in plenary sessions and presentations: (program overview: http://www.propulsion2014.com/assets/pdf/SP2014_pre_programme.pdf )
As already announced in April’s news, CEO Dr. Weuta gave a presentation and talk about current developments at WEPA-Technologies in the field of propulsion technology (‘Development of Low Cost Propulsion Systems for Micro-Satellite Launch Vehicles’).
The conclusion of numerous discussions and plenary sessions was, that there is a huge demand for low cost personalized launches to transport micro- and small satellites into the orbit desired.
Several organizations are working at present on the development of a low cost launch system, but commercial availability of low cost propulsion technology still is an unresolved issue.
Besides cost, reliability – especially within upper stages – is an issue of paramount importance.
Therefore the development portfolio of WEPA-Technologies seem to be well balanced and meets present market demand.
